Flowers Hospital to Continue Facemask Requirement After State Mandate Expires
4/8/2021
Dothan, Ala. (April 8, 2021) – Flowers Hospital will continue to require facemasks for employees, medical staff, patients and visitors after the state of Alabama’s mask mandate expires on April 9, 2021.
“Throughout the pandemic, Flowers Hospital has followed recommendations and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC still recommends using source control, such as facemasks, for everyone who enters the hospital, so we will continue to require that our employees, medical providers, patients and visitors wear facemasks while they are here,” said Jeff Brannon, Flowers Hospital CEO.
In addition to the facemask requirement, Flowers Hospital will continue to follow other precautions, such as limited entry points and visitation, screening everyone who enters the facility, social distancing, and enhanced cleaning processes.
“We remain diligent in our efforts to maintain a safe environment for our patients, visitors, employees and medical providers,” said Dan Cumbie, Flowers Hospital's chief nursing officer. “We stand ready to help, and we want our community to know that they are safe walking through our doors when they need medical care.”
