Flowers Hospital: Caring for You and the Place We All Call Home
4/15/2026
More than 428,000 times last year, we were privileged to provide quality healthcare for our Wiregrass area neighbors. As we care for you and the place we all call home, our impact is deep, contributing more than $299 million to the region through charity/uncompensated care provided, reinvestment in services, employee payroll, payment of more than $19 million in taxes, and our charitable projects.
Patients have more access to services and we’ve enhanced the patient experience through more than $6 million in capital projects. We have reinvested in facility improvements, technology upgrades, and the recruitment of physicians specializing in cardiology, internal medicine, pulmonology, urology, general surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery to further strengthen our hospital’s medical staff and the care available in our region.
Every new physician, advanced technology or facility project supports local residents and even patients who come from other hospitals in need of a higher level of medical care. Health is central to quality of life, and we are committed to offering advanced medical services here in the Wiregrass to make it easier to get the care you need. It’s a privilege to transform lives every day, helping patients manage their health at every stage of life.
Our childbirth team was privileged to help area families grow at the delivery of more than 1,400 babies in 2025.
Keeping patients safe remains a priority. Our care earned an A on the Leapfrog Patient Safety Grade in November for the 6th consecutive grading period, designating our hospital as a “Straight A” hospital and placing us in the top 12% of eligible hospitals nationwide.
Emergency medicine remains a vital service, with more than 38,000 visits to the emergency room at our hospital. We provide life-saving medically necessary care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, delivering more than $139 million in charity and uncompensated care and resources to help them secure medications and medical support devices.
Through financial donations and acts of service, we support local charitable and community organizations, such as Wiregrass United Way and Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center, and our fourth annual Jars of Love drive collected more than 2,100 jars of peanut and other nut butters for the Wiregrass Area Food Bank.
The heart of Flowers Hospital is our dedicated team of physicians, nurses and staff. Payroll of $125 million supports their tireless, around the clock delivery of quality care and we are grateful for their service. This team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who are counting on us. Together, we have an unwavering commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and doing the right thing every day for those who trust us with their care.
