Marque Jackson Named Flowers Hospital’s 2009 Employee of the Year

Marque Jackson began his career at Flowers Hospital in 1991 as a laundry worker. In February 2004, he transferred to the Anesthesia Department to serve as a Patient Care Assistant II in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, Marque assists in direct care responsibilities of PACU patients of all age groups, from pediatric through geriatric, under the direction of an RN. He also assists with the transport and safe transfer of patients from wheelchair to bed or from stretcher to bed.

For 18 years, Marque’s co-workers and supervisors have observed his tireless work ethic and ability to get the job done while maintaining a calm, positive demeanor, and for this reason, he was selected our Employee of the Year. No job is too big or too small for Marque, and on any given day, he can be seen transporting patients, cleaning the wheels of stretchers, or helping visitors in the hallway. He actively and independently pursues tasks needed to maintain the smooth operation of the PACU. “Marque is the kind of employee every hospital CEO strives to attract and retain.
