Bridget Taylor, RN, Named Flowers Hospital’s Patient Choice Award Winner
Dothan, AL (July 2010) – When Flowers Hospital asked patients to nominate nurses who exceeded expectations, the responses were remarkable. The Patient Choice Award recognizes the quality care, comfort, and compassion offered by nurses at Flowers Hospital and honors one nurse every year. As part of National Nurse’s Week, May 6-12, Bridget Taylor, RN, was presented with the award at a hospital ceremony.
“Sometimes it’s hard to identify one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital doing such an admirable job caring for our patients,” says Dan Cumbie, Chief Nursing Officer. “That’s why we asked patients to help us make the choice. They see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level.”
Bridget Taylor earned her nursing degree from Chipola College in 2005 and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in nursing. The year she graduated from nursing school, she began her career at Flowers Hospital in the emergency department, where she continues to work.
“Bridget is friendly, caring to our patients, and provides top quality care,” says Mr. Cumbie. “She has the ability to put patients and their family members at ease, even under the most stressful situations. Bridget is very careful to provide explanations and communicates very well with patients. She is a talented nurse who exemplifies Flowers Hospital’s mission of treating our patients as if they are family.”
